River of Time As the river of time flows alongRiver of Time by ~Tzeench
We are adrift along an infinite river
A river with no beginning and no end;
Yet each day slips by
Irreplaceable, gone forever
Remembered only as yesterday
Our gaze is ever focused ahead on this river
"The future" is something vast and grand we say;
Yet this second was the future seconds ago
We live for the future rather than the here and now
We try and peer past the veils of time;
As if we were prescient!
It is the here and now that determines the future
All the peering ahead makes the future bleaker and darker
As nothing is accomplished in the time known as NOW
Time Time is the destroyer.Time by ~Tzeench
In time mountains crumble and fall
Empire are crushed and new ones replace, alliances fall,
People are forgotten to the vast pages of the book known as history;
Rare are the things which can stand the test of time
Even history has not stood it unchanged for it is being forgotten.
I will ask "Who was Galileo?" and they will say "Who?"
Some will say "Oh I remember so-and-so for doing such-and-such"
And in a decades time the so-and-so and his such-and-such will have been forgotten.
Seasons come and seasons go.
Memory fades but time rolls ever onward;
People come and people go….but time remains.
